Pin Cut Tool for line passives, connectors and cable pin lengths, cuts exact desired length, glass-filled PVC
As cable network frequencies expand to 1.2GHz, 1.8GHz or beyond, connector and cable pin lengths must be cut to the correct length to achieve good network performance. Guidance from the SCTE states that pin length must be cut within +/- 0.035 inch (0.9 mm) from nominal. This type of precision is difficult to achieve without good tools.
The PPC Pin Cut Tool was developed to easily cut hardline connector pins and some hardline cable center conductors precisely and consistently to the correct length. With six different measurements on the gauge disc, this tool can accommodate a wide range of connectors and devices. With two holes per measurement, the disc ensures that cutting edge wear is spread over more than one point. The durability of the U.S.-made Linesman pliers, combined with the glass-filled PVC construction of the gauge disc, creates a tool that will be able to provide an extended service life.
