  • AES-256 encryption
  • Eligible for Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS) contract through U.S. Space Force & Commercial Satellite Communications Office

The Iridium 9603 ESBD provides greater security and on-air performance compared to the existing Iridium 9603 SBD module.

Encryption

AES-256 encrypted payload and metadata, including module identifiers and geolocation

Larger Payloads

12x greater maximum mobile-originated (MO) and 15x greater maximum mobile-terminated (MT) message sizes

Increased Transfer Rates

Lower on-air time for payloads greater than 70 bytes reduces the likelihood of interception  

Longer Battery Life

No re-transmission of acknowledged data

EMSS Eligible

Access unlimited narrowband data through Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS), a multi-year contract between Iridium and the U.S. Space Force.
