Global Foxcom's Apogee SNMP Management System provides support for all Sat-Light fiber optic modules, redundancy switches and power supplies. The Apogee SNMP Management System is built on a rack-mounted module and an integrated graphical SNMP manager. The Java-based graphical administrative tool is accessible via standard web or MIB browsers.
For easier management of multiple chassis on non-Java-equipped, Windows-based machines, a Global Foxcom Device Viewer Application is available for free.
Apogee alarms support RF and optical faults for transmitters and receivers. Monitoring features include power supply, ambient temperature and RF/optical input and output power. The Apogee shelf-mount card has an RS-232 port for initialization and security settings. The front panel Ethernet port connects to the user's LAN.
The Apogee GUI enables the user to view the status of the modules residing on the 3U shelf including all the link’s operations. By clicking on each module, the unit's RF or optical level is displayed in dBm.
The open architecture of Apogee's MIB offers management via its built-in GUI or a number of third-party management systems including, HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, CA Unicenter, etc.
