he Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) is an information technology security accreditation program for validating that the cryptographic modules produced by private sector companies meet well-defined security standards. Cradlepoint’s FIPS 140-2 Inside certifications allows continued support of its commitment to deliver highly-secure, cloud-managed networking solutions for mission-critical applications and environments that require the strictest of protections.
The IBR1700 FIPS from Cradlepoint is a rugged Category 18 (Cat 18) Gigabit-Class LTE router that securely connects critical vehicle and mobile applications. FirstNet, first responders, public transit, truck fleets, and nearshore shipping vessels count on the IBR1700’s high-performance and reliability to meet demanding communication requirements. Mobile networks require vigorous security measures to protect on-board public WiFi and remote cloud data transfers. The IBR1700 FIPS reduces threats by offering cutting-edge multi-zone firewalls, IDS/IPS, Internet security protocols, and FIPS-140-2 certification. Please see the IBR1700 model if FIPS certification is not required.
The IBR1700 FIPS comes equipped with a Cat 18 (1200 Mbps) Gigabit-Class Advanced Pro modem and a secondary modem slot. A backup modem, MC400, with a second wireless carrier may be added for continuous connectivity. The device also includes advanced WiFi (simultaneous tri-band, IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac wave 2, MU-MIMO), five Gigabit LAN and WAN interfaces, and active GPS with precision dead-reckoning and location. Performance is nothing if a router cannot stand up to a mobile environment. Built for the demands of vehicle operations, the IBR1700 FIPS withstands extreme temperature, dust, moisture, shock, and vibration. It supports OBD-II to report vehicle health and diagnostics. It meets MIL-STD-810, IP64, and other safety and regulatory certifications.
NetCloud IoT Package
The Cradlepoint IBR1700 FIPS router is sold with a complete NetCloud Service for Mobile Package, which includes cloud management, 24x7 support, and limited lifetime warranty. Offered in a one, three, or five-year subscription plan, NetCloud Mobile FIPS Essentials and Advanced Plan provides remote configuration and control of your deployed routers, and remote connect, out-of-band management, advanced VPN and tunneling, and location-based services.
