The Oscilloquartz OSA 5422 is a high-precision, multi-technology timing and synchronization platform designed for mission-critical networks requiring accurate, resilient and scalable synchronization. It combines IEEE 1588 PTP, NTP, SyncE, GNSS and physical timing interfaces in a compact 1U platform suitable for telecom, defense, utilities, broadcast, data center and other critical infrastructure applications.

This configuration features a Stratum 3E OCXO oscillator and L1 multi-constellation GNSS receiver. The OSA 5422 can operate as a PTP Grandmaster, Boundary Clock, Slave, NTP server and synchronization distribution platform. It also supports extensive physical timing interfaces, including BITS, PPS, Clock and PPS+ToD.

Multi-Constellation GNSS Timing

The integrated GNSS receiver provides a highly accurate UTC-traceable timing reference. The standard single-band implementation supports multiple satellite constellations and includes configurable signal-quality parameters, antenna cable-delay compensation and jamming and spoofing detection.

The OSA 5422 platform can also support optional multiband GNSS configurations for enhanced accuracy and resilience.

Assured and Resilient Timing

The OSA 5422 is designed for applications where loss or manipulation of GNSS cannot be allowed to disrupt network synchronization.

The platform supports multiple backup timing references, including:

Optional Iridium STL Resiliency

An optional Iridium Satellite Time and Location, STL receiver provides authenticated timing from low-earth-orbit satellites and creates a timing source independent of GNSS.

STL supports indoor and outdoor antenna deployments and provides timing accuracy within ±100 ns from UTC, 1 sigma, with an outdoor antenna. Its high-power LEO signal and authenticated architecture provide additional resilience against interference and signal manipulation.
