Kratos SHS ANTI-ICE

The SHS Anti-Ice system delivered by Kratos is designed to prevent accumulation of snow and ice on the small size Earth Station Antennas to ensure optimum operation during inclement weather. The specially shaped soft backed aluminium self-adhesive heating panels are applied directly to the back side of the antenna and controlled via an ice/snow sensing control unit. The heating system provides approximately 300-350 W/m2 of heat to the antenna reflector, this is enough heat to prevent snow from forming on the antenna surface, but not enough to cause problems with heater burn-out or antenna surface deformation.

The indoor rack mounted Web I/O Ethernet SNMP interface allows remote control & monitoring of the following parameters:
• Heating on/off
• Fault status (Heater failure & control circuit failure)
• Manual/Remote activation of heating.
The Anti-Ice system is delivered with the following components:
• Heater Panels
• Snow Sensor
• Heater Control Box
• Indoor rack mounted Web I/O Ethernet SNMP interface
